FY 2027 effective date

GSA published FY 2027 CONUS per diem rates on September 3, 2026. The fiscal year begins October 1, 2026, so use the rate table applicable to the actual travel date and location. Publication before October 1 does not make FY 2027 rates effective early.

Choose the correct authority

GSA sets CONUS rates. DoD publishes separate rates for Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and possessions; the Department of State publishes foreign rates. Government quarters, orders, and authorized exceptions may change reimbursement.

Look up the locality in the official table and use the lodging and M&IE components for the correct dates. Do not treat a planning estimate as approval of lodging or entitlement.
